Guidance

One of the essential functions of the Office of the Ombudsperson for Academic Rights is to receive individual complaints from UNAM’s students and members of the academic personnel. If the complaint falls out of the OOAR’s jurisdiction, the petitioner receives guidance regarding the entity or authority that may hear his/her concerns.

If you are a student or a member of the academic personnel and you require guidance about academic rights, ask for it.

Procedure to ask for guidance:

In person:

1. Visit OOAR’s offices located on the second floor of building D, Cultural Zone of Ciudad Univesitaria (in front of Universum Museum);

2. Request an orientation session to the OOAR’s personnel;

3. Fill in the general data format;

A legal counsel will be assigned to you and will provide guidance based on the information you have supplied.

By phone:

1. Call the OOAR : 5622-6220-21 and National LADA 01800 062 8626.

2. Request an orientation session to the OOAR’s personnel;

3. Provide your general data: name, address, contact phone number, age, academic category, student ID or employee number, academic entity you are enrolled in.

A legal counsel will be assigned to you and will provide guidance based on the information you have supplied.

Through E-mail or Facebook :

1. Request an orientation session to the OOAR’s personnel through defensoria@unam.mx

2. Include the following details in your request:

     1. Your general data:  name, address, contact phone number, age, academic category, student ID or employee number, academic entity you are enrolled in and any other information that can help identify you and your case.

     2. The description of the facts and every element available about your issue, so the legal counsel can offer the adequate guidance in the answer.
