Complaints

The terms “claim”, “report” and “disagreement” have been enclosed in the term “complaint” when speaking about the defense of academic rights.

The complaint may challenge any act, resolution or omission against the University Legislation for being wrong, unreasonable, unfair or inadequate.

Procedure for filing a complaint:

1. Download the complaint format and fill in the selected spaces.

2. File your complaint to the OOAR. To continue with the procedure, you can do one of the following:

In Person: present your written complaint to the offices of the OOAR.

Through e-mail: Submit your complaint through e-mail to defensoria@unam.mx.

The complaint must be signed, a copy of your University credentials must be attached and any  necessary element or evidence for the study of the case.

The Office of the Ombudsperson for Academic Rights does not admit anonymous communications so, once the complaint format is received, you will be required to go to the offices of the OOAR to ratify said complaint in a maximum period of 8 days.

3. After the initial analysis, the OOAR will determine if the complaint is admissible or not. The petitioner is informed about such determination.
