Legal Nature

The Office of the Ombudsperson for Academic Rights is the entity established by the University Council to safeguard the rights contained in the University Legislation in favor of students and academic personnel. The OOAR intervenes to reach solutions to complaints filed by them.

The OOAR doesn’t issue sentences but recommendations directed to authorities whenever a violation to University Legislation has been found.

OOAR’s recommendations are not compulsory but, as soon as an authority accepts them, they become binding. Failure to fulfill them generates academic responsibility. If authorities do not admit or accept a recommendation, they must indicate the reasons and legal basis of such noncompliance.
